Hi friends!
I know it’s been a while since my last blog post. School is coming to an end and I have been focusing more on that instead of my blog so I have not been writing much lately. Now that the semester is coming to a close I am happy to be able to have more time to be able to write more blog posts!
This week is finals week for me and I know it is finals season for many people so I wanted to write a blog post to encourage us, students, to finish stong and study hard!
I have been lacking so much motivation lately. Even to the point to where I have been putting off writing this blog post for 3 days in a row. I’ve been making excuses like, is anyone going to want to read this during finals week? Or am I wasting time writing this when I should be studying? Meanwhile I seem to have plenty of time to get on Instagram while I’m studying so I decided no more excuses.
College is hard. And not even just the school work part. I think I’m dealing with a bit of senioritis and college can just make you feel so burnt out, so I just wanted to give some helpful tips on how you can push through finals week!!
Tip #1: Don’t Over Work Yourself
It is so important to make sure that you are taking breaks while you’re studying. Try studying for 50 minutes then take a 10-15 break by eating a snack or even just walking around your room for a second!
Tip #2 Get Some Rest!! (Don’t pull that all-nighter it’s not worth it bestie)
It is so important that you get rest!! You may think that staying up late might be the best option to make sure that you get all of that information into your brain but studies show that it is actually more helpful for your brain to retain information if you go to sleep! (I promise I saw this in an article somewhere I’m not making this up lol). You will feel so much better taking that test after a good night of sleep I guarantee. (I need to take my own advice because it’s currently 3AM as I am typing this haha).
Tip #3 Stay Calm, Don’t Stress, It’ll be Okay
Now I know this is easier said than done, but finals are not the end of the world. I promise you. Even if you didn’t make the grade you wanted, it’s okay. There’s always another day to work harder, learn more, and grow. You have time. Life is a marathon, not a sprint. As someone who struggles with academic validation, I know how hard it is and just how bad you can feel after not getting the grade you wanted. Just rest well knowing that you did your best! And guess what, God doesn’t care if you made an A or not!! He sees you putting in your best effort.
I feel like I can go all day with tips but long story short, just make sure you stay hydrated, study well, take breaks, and get good rest! Know that God cares so deeply for you. Try making time to rest in Him this week. He’s the only one capable of providing you with true peace and rest. I hope your finals go well and I pray that you have peace this finals week. ❤️
Encouraging Bible Verses:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11: 28-30)
“Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40: 30-31 )
“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” (Romans 5:3-4)
Thank you so much for reading.
Kindly, Kayla
