Place yourself in a doctor’s office. You came to get your results and you’re hoping for good news from the doctor. You’re hoping he’s going to say exactly what you want him to say. You even have it all planned out in your head how it can go; the way you want it to and the way you don’t. Think about how you’re feeling waiting there. Think about your knee bobbing up and down. You’re biting your fingernails, picking the skin off of your lips. Then, next thing you know, you hear your name being called by the nurse. You stand up and what you’ve been waiting to hear is waiting for you right behind that door.
That’s how it can feel at times waiting on God to answer this prayer you’ve been praying for years. You feel that God maybe isn’t hearing you. You might ask yourself are you praying for the wrong thing? Maybe you feel far from God, and you’re starting to lose all hope. I just wanted to remind you that it doesn’t have to be this way.
God hears you. God sees you. God knows you (Psalms 139). God’s timing is just simply different than our timing. And maybe you feel that your prayer isn’t just something you want, it’s something you need and you can’t understand why God wouldn’t give it to you. Now I don’t know all the answers to these questions, there are plenty of scriptures to refer to on why God may not be answering (James 4:2-3), but what I do know is that God’s timing is perfect. And I do know that He wants us to have bold faith. What you are asking for could already be done. It could already be prepared because God is outside of our time. He’s already in the future. We just need to have that faith and know that when it happens, it is the best time because God knows all and He knows what you need when you need it. Don’t lose hope, don’t give up on praying. Have BOLD faith in our Heavenly Father because He cares oh so deeply for you.
Sometimes we have to realize that God is never late. We get impatient and want things to happen when we want them to.
Here’s a scripture for some encouragement while you’re in the waiting room:
“but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31 ESV
We also can’t even fathom nor wrap our minds around what God has for us. His thoughts are not our thoughts. He has more for you than you could ever imagine, if you just trust.
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,”
Ephesians 3:20 KJV
The waiting room doesn’t have to be filled with anxiety. We don’t have to just sit there. We should still carry on being strong in our faith. Our lives shouldn’t come to a halt sitting in that waiting room. God gave us a great gift. Peace. Peace that surpasses all understanding and we should have peace and know that our Creator knows what’s best for us.
In this waiting room that you’re in, pick up a magazine and read it (Read the Word) , talk to the people around you (Talk to fellow Christians for encouragement), and have peace to know that whatever the doctor reveals to you, there’s hope for the future( Know that however your situation turns out, God is in control).
God loves you and cares so deeply for you so please don’t be discouraged.
“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
Psalm 37:4 ESV
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV
“The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, To the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly Wait for the salvation of the LORD.”
Lamentations 3:25-26 KJV
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
Thank you so much for reading.
