Hi friends!
These past few weeks of school before spring break have been feeling very overwhelming for me.
It seems like there is always something to be done. And when I do take the time to rest, I have this anxious feeling that I could be doing something.
It’s my last semester of college before I graduate, and I have so many things on my mind. From taking 6 classes, thinking about senior pictures, picking the perfect outfit for my graduation ceremony, sending out invitations, planning the gathering for afterwards, tests, midterms, finals, papers, and the organizations I’m in on campus. It can all feel like too much at times.
The whole point of this is that I am now in the middle of midterms week and I finally feel the most peace I have felt all semester. Want to know why? Because I have actively been walking in the Spirit and abiding in Christ.
Let me show you what that looks like in my life:
-Waking up and praying that God will get me through the day.
-Reading my daily devotional every morning before I get out of bed for encouragement and scriptures that I can ponder on all-day.
-Praying before I do anything. Literally anything. I’ve been praying before I study that God would give me the ability to focus on my work. I pray before my tests that God would help me remember the material that I spent all day studying. And I promise you that this has changed my daily life tremendously.
God is waiting on you to come to Him. This life is not easy, it gets and feels hard at times. God knows that we can’t carry these burdens alone. The Bible says, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
God cares for you so much! Go to Him today and ask that he get you through whatever may be overwhelming you right now. Whether it be your job, taking care of your family, anything. Cast your cares on Him! He cares for you 💗
Spending that time with God everyday provides a peace that surpasses all understanding. You may feel like you don’t have time but I promise you, just taking a moment to be with God everyday can change your life!
I wanted to include something that I read in my bible plan last night that I feel goes along perfectly with this post!

Here are some practical ways you can spend more time with God:
-Read John 15. It’s a great chapter that truly shows how much God wants us to abide in Him
-Listen to a podcast. There are so many Christian podcasts you can listen to early in the morning before you start your day! I highly recommend the “First 15” podcast where they do devotionals every single morning so you can spend your first 15 minutes of the day with Christ!
-Listen to the song First Always by Jonathan McReynolds. This is a great song that will encourage you to put God first in your life always!
-Read your Bible and pray before bed every night. If you struggle with anxiety before bed and your thoughts run rampant over all you have to do the next day, I encourage you to spend time with God right before bed. He can give you the peace you need to sleep well and rest in Him!
-Pray continuously throughout your day so that you can always be walking in the Spirit. Having that constant communication with Christ is so vital! He can help you get through hard things throughout your day.
I pray that whatever may be overwhelming you right now gets better, and that you get that peace you need from God! He’s always there, you just have to seek Him.
Thank you for reading
Kindly,
Kayla
